Standard Consultation - Please contact Fiona for fees.

Medicare Rebate of $92.90 per session
Your client’s psychologist will provide then with an invoice at the end of the session which they claim a rebate via the online Medicare Express App.

Medicare Rebates

At present, Medicare’s Better Access program enables 10 sessions per calendar year.
To obtain a plan and the Medicare rebate your client must see a GP or psychiatrist prior to their first session with the psychologist and obtain a referral. The referral is at the discretion of the GP or psychiatrist and there must be a mental health diagnosis e.g. anxiety disorder or depression.

Medical clinics like to be informed that this is the reason for the appointment as sometimes a longer appointment is required, so please advise the receptionist if your client is seeking this plan so appropriate time allocations can be made. Please advise us of the referring GP or psychiatrist when you phone us to make an appointment and whether you are being referred under the Mental Health Care Plan.

Private Health Insurance Rebates

Most private health insurers offer rebates for psychological services. To claim a rebate at Enhancing Minds Psychology the following steps need to take place:
You client must be covered by comprehensive extras as part of the policy- we recommend your client contact their insurer to check the level of cover and the rebate

-
The psychologist your client sees needs to be approved by their health fund
-
Some health funds may require a medical referral
-
Receipts can be taken to your client’s insurer to claim the rebate. It is not possible to claim both private health and Medicare for the one appointment, so most clients choose to utilise their Medicare sessions first then claim through private health for further sessions if needed.
